Kingsville Police Department Support Services

The Support Services Division (ASD) serves as support to the Patrol Division through Investigations and Communications.  In serving the patrol division, the men and women of the ASD promote the safety, health and general well being of each and every citizen of Kingsville.

Commander Julian Cavazos is a 29 year veteran of the police department, and has served and supervised in every division of the department.  Cavazos is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) and a graduate of the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (FBI-LEEDS) and holds a Master’s Degree in Justice Administration from Norwich University, Vermont.  Cavazos is an adjunct professor at Coastal Bend College, Kingsville.

The Support Services Division (ASD) Commander oversees the Investigations Bureau which handles all the follow up criminal investigations reported to the patrol division.  The investigators do all the follow up investigations which includes interviews with witnesses and alleged offenders.  The investigators then prepare the cases for the courts.

The Support Services Division (ASD) Commander also oversees the Street Level Operations Team (S.L.O.T.),  which includes human smuggling and narcotics investigations within the City of Kingsville.

The men and women of this division also attend various functions throughout the year on various speaking engagements which includes; schools, local civic groups, and other special functions within our city.
